Nilda Guerrero lost her mother violently at the hands of the Shining Path (Sendero Luminoso) in 1995. Years later, misled by healthcare workers, she underwent a tubal ligation procedure that left her discouraged and weak. Despite these events drastically marking her life, Nilda finds refuge in her grandson and in art. She paints and creates relentlessly, intending to leave these works to her children so they will always remember her among smiles, colors, and flowers.
